ConfigurationOfNacl

I have added ConfigurationOfNacl to Pharo 3 repository. You can load it using the Configuration Browser. Nacl is a cryptolibrary based in libsodium. The binding for Pharo/Squeak ( http://www.eighty-twenty.org/index.cgi/tech/smalltalk/nacl-for-squeak-and-p…) was written by Tony-Garnock Jones. The Configuration automatically download and uncompress the compiled library file. I have tested under Windows and Linux, all tests passes. But I do not own a Mac (I'm really open to donations :) so if anyone may test the configuration under Mac it would be nice. Cheers, HernÃ¡n

Thank you everyone. Yes, the subject is a bit misleading ;) I'll give you my exact use case to make things clearlyâ¦ I'm cleaning up the globals ActiveWorld and World. There are methods such as Morph>>world that sometimes return one of the above, or nil. As part of the cleanup, I want a NullWorld that is indeed polymorphic with WorldMorph. However, I don't want to change too much at once because it's too easy to freeze the image. So I want to temporarily implement NullWorld>>#ifNil:ifNotNil: so that I can plug in the new object, without breaking all the existing code, so I can switch back to nil if I get in trouble. When it's working, I'll start to remove all the #ifNil:ifNotNil: sends as a 2nd phase. In 4.0, imagine this killer combination: - Declare high-level logical categories a la AltBrowser (e.g. UI). This really nails the 7+/-2 sweet spot - For external projects, query the Metacello configurations to find out exactly what packages belong to which project and group accordingly; they could also declare AltBrowser categories But until then, I think this is already an improvement: The screenshot is of two overlapping Nautilus browsers. The one on the left is the current implementation. The one on the right adds top-level categories. The key thing to notice is the scroll bar: almost 10 pages to deal with currently vs. 3-4 with top level categories. Notice also that the icons make it clear what is an actual package. The other important thing to remember is that power users are most likely going to use Spotlight or the filter bar. This is really more for exploration and education. Cheers, Sean

Nautilus Package Tree

Is more-than-one-level deep planned? I love the idea, but I'm not finding the current implementation particularly useful. I want to reiterate that I think the tree nodes should be based on name-matching and not only per-package. Hello, I started working with the Pharo VM not too much ago, but the latest bleeding edge Pharo VM code is placed on the GitHub hosted repository: https://github.com/pharo-project/pharo-vm For cloning, you only need to do in the command line: git clone https://github.com/pharo-project/pharo-vm For building the Pharo VM, you need to follow the instructions that are better formatted in the GitHub page. I only have a bit of experience with building it at Linux, where there is a small problem with the generated build.sh script. From here I am going to explain a bit that problem, just in case, assuming that you have already taken a look at the GitHub page or the Readme in the repository. The build.sh script tries to execute ../codegen-scripts/extract-commit-info.sh which is actually located in ../scripts/extract-commit-info.sh When running that build.sh you could see an error about that path, then start making the whole project, until hitting a compilation error. For fixing that error, you need to run the ../scripts/extract-commit-info.sh from the build directory path, so it generates the missing file. Then, you can just run make. For subsequent builds, you don't have run ../scripts/extract-commit-info.sh all the time, unless you remove the whole build directory to do a new clean build. Hi All, in trying to help ClÃ©ment with his Sista work on Cog I'm trying to look at the latest version of pharovm. I've been using git:// gitorious.org/cogvm/blessed. I cloned it on December 2nd, and just did a git fetch, but I see no changes to any files other than .git/FETCH_HEAD and .git/ORIG_HEAD. How do I update the files to their current state (I use svn & mercurial, have used sccs, rcs & sccs, and it's such a pain having to learn yet another f***ing sccs)? Further, I see no generated files such as gcc3x-cointerp.c or cogit.c. Why not? Do you always fire up an image and freshly generate the C source?? If not, where do I find it? All this is to answer the simple question of whether the blessed pharo vm contains primitiveInterpreterSourceVersion. How would you answer that question without running the VM? e.g. in the Cog svn repository you'd do grep primitiveInterpreterSourceVersion src/vm/*.c src/plugins/*/*.c and you'd have an answer. [Fuel] Back to stable builds

Hi guys So apparently somehow the problems weâve had with the builds are now gone. Iâve reenabled failure e-mails for failed / broken builds.
