in mac, you need to do it in cocoa. with the ObjectiveCBridge2 you can do: ws := (ObjectiveCBridge classObjectForName: #NSWorkspace) sharedWorkspace. url := (ObjectiveCBridge classObjectForName: #NSWorkspace) URLWithString: 'http://www.pharo.org' asNSStringUTF8. ws openURL: url. this work with the ObjectiveCBridge2, http://www.squeaksource.com/ObjectiveCBridge2/ and more or less in same way with the Alien-OSX Bridge: http://www.squeaksource.com/Alien/ (curiously, you need the "ConfigurationOfOldAlien" to make it work. it will be a NB out-of-the-box version, but since to communicate with ObjC you need a bridge (not just the ffi stuff), we (Igor and me) still did not find time to work on it... [Pharo-project] Problem with building the PharoVM: cairo tar -J option invalid

Hi, I was looking at the fixes in the VM (crashes in the last week). Now, on OSX, I see that there are things (cairo, freetype, ...) loaded based on a pkg-config something. But at one point (when "unpacking cairo" when doing make), I got this: [ 2%] Built target freetype2 [ 3%] Built target FT2Plugin [ 4%] Built target pkg-config [ 5%] Built target libpng [ 6%] Built target pixman [ 6%] Unpacking cairo ... tar: l'option -- J est invalide Pour en savoir davantage, faites: << tar --help >> ou << tar --usage >>. make[2]: *** [thirdparty/cairo/cairo-1.12.6/touch.cmake] Error 64 make[1]: *** [thirdParty/cairo/CMakeFiles/cairo.dir/all] Error 2 make: *** [all] Error 2 Never got anything like that in the previous builds. So, I wonder. I did a PharoVMBuilder build in the latest generator image. Cmake didn't complained in build/ but make does... Any idea? Phil

Its not solved within Smalltalk - it is done directly in the browser using javscript. It uses https://code.google.com/p/pagedown/ The scripts can be found on OHFileRequestHandler. Anything I do is to write a div to the client html and invoke the script. Bye T.

It loads in my image. But the "Browse button" invokes a NBWin32Shell class, which doesn't works too well on my Mac. Then, even is the server says it is started, it doesn't seems to work. I'll check later on my windows machine.
