[Pharo-project] Max CPU usage when #drawOn: is overridden

If we override #drawOn: and implement custom logic to draw.. every few milliseconds as it gets called the CPU usage shoots to available max.. Run four instances of the same class that overrides and does some moderately complex draw routine of say : CircleMorph with border set, few lines, color rendering.. I will send in the .st file later .. that can be tested against.. Is this expected or what are the ways to avoid this CPU overhead... NativeBoost animation, far more responsive.. also goes up very similarly. but little more tolerable... VGTigerMorph... more so than FlakesDemo...

Hey cool. Once I have the iPad thing keyboard fixed (working on it), I'd like to have a go at that. Is there any PI emulator around? (so that we can work without a PI board). Markus, as for CUDA and stuff, I have attended a presentation from an engineer in Mons for his master and the subject was PGAS languages, like Chapel and X10. These do have interesting constructs that we could draw some inspiration from when it comes to adding support in Pharo and VM. Chapel is an ARPA research project at this point. They really want to tackle massive numbers of CPUs. Scatter and gather are important things in there, as are transparently distributed arrays and ease of programming. The fonts addition is excellent! Not having StrikeFont support is less good news, but I understand your position. The only reason I proposed having StrikeFont support was to ease the transition to Athens until the VMs will be properly bundled with Cairo. This will likely take a while, but the transition could start now. Is there another possibility of using a font that can be supported with Athens rendered on top of Balloon.
