Hmm, you can compile a method with Behavior>>#compile:notifying: and send an observer implementing: #notify:at:in: and some other stuff like #selection #deselect... That way you can capture the errors... [Pharo-project] longer builds history

Hi, I extended the history of CI job Pharo 1.4 Tests-Unix to 60 builds/days. I wanted to find when testStWriter tests started to fail and the history was too short (7). This job takes 2MB so I hope it is not a problem. The two tests failures Graphics.Tests.Primitives.BitmapTest.testCompressToByteArrayIntegrity Graphics.Tests.Primitives.BitmapTest.testCompressToByteArraySize seem to be only accidental The tests Ring.Tests.Kernel.RGClassDefinitionTest.testWithComment Ring.Tests.Kernel.RGCommentDefinitionTest.testNewComment have a fix here: http://code.google.com/p/pharo/issues/detail?id=5507 Cheers, -- Pavel

[Pharo-project] Any theme or settings that will speed up a Pharo 1.3 image?

Hi: When trying to debug a Pharo image with a VM that is heavily instrumented with assertions and runs without any compiler optimizations turned on, it is crawlingly slow. (The good old MVC based image is blazingly fast in comparison) Are there any tricks to reduce/disable all the possibly fancy things like transparency, code completion, syntax highlighting easily? I already disable the code completion, and syntax highlighting. I also switched off things like animations, rounded corners, and switched to the Standard Squeak theme. Still, non of these cosmetic changes gave me the noticeable performance gain I had hoped for. Is there anything else I could try to reduce the amount of work the image is doing? It blinks the cursor in a text field in the speed I would expect. But as soon as I start typing, or try to interact with a window, it feels like I can go for a walk before the image is done. [Pharo-project] Display extent during startUp sequence

Hello, I need to know the Display extent during the startUp sequence. Sadly under CogDroid I don't get it right at this time. I am suspect the underneath system is sendeing a fullscreen order to the VM window only propagated after the startUp sequence. I tried "Display forceDisplayUpdate".
