This is strange because it should work. I saw that it is not in 1.3 with the default download image + vm. I tried 1.3 with VM 1.3 with VM 4.2.3 1.3 with VM 4.2.5 1.3 with VM 5.7.4 It is working in Squeak 4.2 The squeak image is working with VM 4.2.3 working with VM 5.7.4 And I do not get why this is not working but this seems to only be an image problem. I will look deeper. On Linux you can get sound doing this (at least it works for me :p ): Copy Squeak-4.4.7.2357-linux_i386/lib/squeak/4.4.7-2357/so.vm-sound-pulse from SqueakVM 4.4.7 (http://www.squeakvm.org/unix/) to: For the Eliot CogVM: coglinux/lib/squeak/4.0-2522/ and rename it to: vm-sound-pulse for the CogVM from jenkins: put the plugin in the same directoy of the CogVM executable file, and rename it to vm-sound-pulse.so Then, open a Pharo-1.3 image, and evaluate: AbstractSoundSystem soundEnabled: true. FWIW, I've had zero luck with sound on Linux :( Squeak did work when I tried it, but I'm not ready to move over sound. I have read that others have gotten sound going on Pharo by copying plugins and evaluating expressions, but it didn't work for me. So far, sound would simply be entertaining. Oh yeah, Oracle has a tool named RAT, no idea what the marketing department though there. Maybe you can play similar tricks with PITR in PostgreS. Cheers Philippe

[Pharo-project] Snapshot question

I am getting some stalled installations, and hope to be able to snapshot my building image after each successful step (not going so well). With the 1.3 one-click, I can't break (control or alt . ???) something that's gone bad - is there a secret to getting that back? Re snapshotting the image, I tried #saveSession, but that seems to capturing a bit too much; if it was doing something stupid, it re-opens trying (unsuccessfully as before) to do the same thing, and I can't break out Is there a better way to save incremental progress? Bill
