By the way, can you fix the balloon text because it looks doubly messy now: - text unreadable - bad text layout It seems balloon text quality degrade step by step, I guess because of refactoring elsewhere in the system. On Linux, I simply edit the shell script to use the image of interest. I don't know enough about macs to figure out whether "launch xyz.app" is using the shell script or doing something completely different. I have tried this morning in a recent Mac OSX in the teacher room, and external borwser does not work either, it seems to depend on AppleScript and want to load something from SqueakMap. I am giving up on that, because I need something working out of the box, without installation from the user. [Pharo-project] Open another image with Pharo 1.1.1 one-click on Mac OS

Is it possible to setup a one-click Pharo.app to ask which image to open at startup? It saves images inside Pharo.app package which is great, but how to open them? TIA -- Dennis Schetinin

I was asking whether there is something I can enable to get diagnostic data that might be of help; I have a reliable crash on startup. There is a PharoDebug.log that is available for the asking, but it appears to be nothing more than remnants from Mariano's efforts to fix some failing tests in September. [Pharo-project] Issue 3719 in pharo: No OmniBrowser!

Pharo on my Mac doesn't have OmniBrowser as its default class browser. On page 318 of the book it reads that in order to change the default class browser, I must change it to O2PackageBrowserAdaptor, but I cannot find it anywhereâ¦ Is there a way to fix this? I have used LDAPlayer with good results. There are small problems on Pharo - a DNU over #and:and: IIRC. As the self-appointed silent failure pedant, I would like to suggest a change to your code. Please try/consider (untested code): attrAt: aKey ifNone:ifNone | selected | selected := attrs at:aKey ifPresent:[ :value | aKey asByteArray ] ifAbsent: [ ^ifNone value ]. ^ selected first asString. That way, one can know whether the item was missing, treating that condition as an error or ignoring it as appears to work in your case. My images are littered with #asByteArray methods, which complicates spotting what that might be doing. The problem seems to be on the third line with the use of the asByteArray method. Why used this method ? For my tests, I remplaced it with : selected := attrs at: aKey ifAbsent: [ ^ nil ]. It has no function on instances, but rather constructs and returns an Array of Color instances -- clearly a class-side method. It does not pass its own self-test in the comment now. Please put it back on class-side. (Indeed, half the current senders are still messaging the class. The other 5 or 6 senders send #red or #new for no reason, and should message the class).
