Re: [Pharo-project] Accessing the serial interface with Pharo on Windows/Linux?
by Stéphane Ducasse
The serial port should be working (there is a fix for named ports) I do not remember whether we should or we already integrated it.

Re: [Pharo-project] Fwd: Build failed in Hudson: Pharo 1.3 #16
by Dale Henrichs
Marcus,
Since there are truncated lines in the mail message, it isn't possible
to tell precisely what broke, but I did look at the console output:
https://pharo-ic.lille.inria.fr/hudson/job/Pharo%201.3/16/console
and according to the stack on the console it looks like the top of the
stack was:
UndefinedObject(Object)>>doesNotUnderstand: #readStream
MCScanner class>>scanTokens:
MCMczReader>>parseMember:
and this is the typical signature of a failed mcz download ... where the
file was created with little or no content ...
If I recall correctly, there may be a corrupted file in the
package-cache, so the package-cache needs to be cleared before retrying ...

[Pharo-project] Accessing the serial interface with Pharo on Windows/Linux?
by Friedrich Dominicus
Just wondering if there is some Smalltalk way to access the serial
interface.
A little bit extended. Can one use COM and Pharo on Windows?

Comment #4 on issue 3401 by cdric...(a)gmail.com: Comparison of Urls is not
possible yet
http://code.google.com/p/pharo/issues/detail?id=3401
I totally agree with previous comments. But then, #= in URI should be
refactored too as it is also based on string conversion.
URI>>= otherURI
^ self class = otherURI class
and: [self asString = otherURI asString]
Time to refactor URI/Url ? :)

Hi Everybody! This is my first post on the list, even though i've been
subscribed for more than 6 months.

No, they don't implement it. Just Pharo and Squeak. I just added the same
implementation to Integer in VA, VisualWorks and GNU Smalltalk (
Integer>>tinyBenchmarks, Integer>>benchmark and Integer>>benchFib), so the
source code is the same.

Every System was the one available from their websites. (Got Pharo 1.2 from
Hudson about 3 days ago.) However, VisualWorks is not available from its
website right now. I installed it from a Cincom CD-ROM I got on Smalltalks
2010 .

Smalltalk vmVersion returns 'Croquet Closure Cog VM [CoInterpreter
VMMaker-oscog.35]').

Yes, it is true. Daniel Galdames also pointed this out last night on the
blog. But as I told before, it is just the benchmarks you get from the
"download the latest version available" approach. I couldn't find a
Cog-based Squeak on its ftp site, (perhaps I was too lazy). I won't have the
time to repeat this until next week, then I'll try this.

benchmark available? If so, I could retry the experiment.
