[Pharo-project] Does CogDroid work on mobile devices?

Caludia, I looked at the log you sent. [2427] after interp_init [3074] updateDisplay: Display width is 800 (expected 320) [3074] updateDisplay: Display width is 600 (expected 202) - this is a typo as I found - this line should say "height" says that interpreter was entered, and even tried to update display. I don't know what exactly your phone specs are (cannot google this specific model but Samsung 5500 with other letters mentioned 128 to 170M RAM). How much RAM does it have? I tried CogDroid on x86-Android in a VM with 128M RAM. It started, but switching to home screen killed it (and logcat said the same*, killed because of low memory). Expect CogDroid to use 50M at minimum. So, if you also have some other applications running this may be simply insufficient memory. --------------- * Of course it is very easy to get root shell and run logcat on x86 Android since root console is simply there. Hi, I've tried cogDroid on a samsung Galaxy IT5500L mobile with Android 2.2... Screen size may be another story: on a small phone screen it may be a bit hard to work with windows that Squeak or Pharo provides. Can you attach your phone to a larger monitor (some phones advertize HDMI connection)? But properly written applications that use large interface elements would work just fine even on a small screen. You may try this old 3.9 image: http://squeakvm-tablet.googlecode.com/files/sqandr_pres.zip I altered its default theme to use larger fonts where possible. Stan, I just came across your message while browsing the mailing list. Yes, this is correct: no blue button unless you have a "forward" hardware button which I am guessing is not available on every device. I have uploaded another alpha: http://squeakvm-tablet.googlecode.com/files/CogDroid-alpha-20111001.apk which has this somewhat fixed. You press the "Back" button once, and see "Mouse yellow". Press it once more, and you see "Mouse blue". Then tap where you need, and it will act as if the blue click was made. Not very elegant, but works. I ran into the same issue with x86 Android port (on a PC) where right mouse button acts as "Back" button, and there is no "Forward" button. Hope this helps.
