So you want to use the MC/FTP feature. You are not testing it to make certain that the MC/FTP works. What is is your server string? -Cam

I think I fix it :) I took a clean Ubuntu. I did: sudo dpkg -i libopendbx1_1.4.0-1_i386.deb libopendbx1-mysql_1.4.0-1_i386.deb Then ldconfig -p | grep opendbx show the same as you: libopendbxplus.so.1 (libc6) => /usr/lib/libopendbxplus.so.1 libopendbx.so.1 (libc6) => /usr/lib/libopendbx.so.1 The problem is that we have as module: opendbx. Ubuntu looks for libMODULE_NAME.so. In this case, was searching libopendbx.so. But, your (and my) file was named libopendbx.so.1. Solution: copy and rename (or just rename) libopendbx.so.1 to libopendbx.so and should work like a charm. Thanks for your testing Hilaire. We want SqueakDBX to be as much easier as possible. So, documenting the wiki with several cases will definitively help us. I add this information to the wiki. Let me know if that work. [Pharo-project] SUnit bug ?

Hi folks! Today, at work, a friend ask me about a method in TestResource because he thought it was a bug. We look at it, and for us, it could be a bug. So, I ask to you. See TestResource class side isAvailable ------------------------ isAvailable ^self current notNil and: [self current isAvailable] ------------------------ the first part (self current notNil) ALWAYS return true because of the implementation of self current: ------------------------ current current isNil ifTrue: [current := self new]. ^current ------------------------- The second part too. Because the implementation of self available (object side method): ------------------------- isAvailable "override to provide information on the readiness of the resource" ^true ------------------------- Ok, you can override and change this method in subclasses, however, the first part is ALWAYS true. Is this correct ? or isAvailable should be: isAvailable ^ self current isAvailable Thanks! Mariano

I am not sure to understand. I would like to be able to load OBAlpha in Pharo and to not have this the socket problem. PharoInbox/SLICE-M7343-Socket-Rollover-bug-nice.1 After http://bugs.squeak.org/view.php?id=7343 Socket timeout can suffer rollover problem (Happens on server with high load and uptime>12 days) I did not load Andreas change directly 1) He still uses questionnable (deadline - Time millisecondClockValue) which is potentially >0 forever 2) because of above choice, he protected with unecessary 500msecs busy loop (well necessary in this implementation, but not in absolute) 3) he does not answer true when ok: HTTPSocket requires this... I moved the *Until: family message to a deprecated category, but did not send (self deprecated: ...) I corrected in image senders. Do not remove now, they might be used by packages.

Wow, I can't believe one of the more engaged developers who is current didn't engage on this (I am not actively working on Squeak or derivations due to financial commitments but I lurk with interest and wait for my next opportunity to engage). Sebastien, thanks for taking the interest. Smalltalk (and Squeak in particular) has long struggled with licensing issues. The system is completely open so it seems relatively pointless to encumber it with something like GPL. For your historical interest, the community's position on licensing (which is a little out of date as Pharo is going MIT style I think) is found at http://wiki.squeak.org/squeak/159.
