[Pharo-project] os process crash

folks, i'm trying to load OS Process into the latest pharo-core on my mac. it crashes the image when i try and run the tests. Does anyone have sucess on a recent pharo-core? thanks, Mike

[Pharo-project] Error getting parseTree formattedCode

I think there is a bug when you try to get the formattedCode of a parseTree. Try this for example: (Set >> #add:) parseTree formattedCode I'm sure it worked correctly in previous versions of pharo. Any idea?

Hello Bill, I don't exactly understand what you are asking. However, if you want to know if there is methods to compile a source without adding the resulting CompiledMethod to the any class dictionary, the answer is yes, you can. You can do that, for example, by sending the message #compile:classified:notifying:trailer:ifFail:on:do: to any class. [Pharo-project] Compiler question

Hello all, I am starting to port some code generating code of mine, and ran into something that (on Dolphin) uses Compiler class>>compile:in:, and the comment suggests that it creates a compiled method object without adding it to the class' method dictionary. Similar methods in Behavior do the same thing and then add the method to the dictionary. Are similar things happening in Pharo? It looks that way to me, but an expert confirmation or warning would be appreciated. Bill

[Pharo-project] All debugger variables are now quoted

In a recent image all debugger stack variables are now quoted. e.g 'nil'. I think the fix to issue 987 perhaps had an unintended side-effect but we will need to check. http://code.google.com/p/pharo/issues/detail?id=987 If we confirm it's this one we can reopen it, or make a new one. thanks, Mike

Rio/ - newcompiler - true package - management of noncore packages - browsers - release/integration process BTW what is costing me most of my time is cleaning the inbox. Can we script that because moving these files is a pain. Syeg

Yeah!! I think in a unary % message too... but the syntax become ambiguous. For example: | positive | positive := 8. 1 % positive. It's not clear if % is in binary form and must use positive as a collaborator... or if is a unary message and must then send positive.. :( (By the way I like the % as a unary message more than a binary :P ) It's great with dates too: January first, 2010 works ok in Chalten...
