Off topic, but I am curious as a teacher: how old the pupils you are teaching to?
I use Etoys or Scratch in grade 7 (age about 12 years) and Smalltalk in grade 10 (age about 15/16 years). They are attending regular "Informatik"-courses at Gymnasium, supposed to learn object-oriented modeling and programming.

For our freshmen students at university a taught starting with Scratch then Etoys and then Bots Inc as an introduction to Smalltalk (pharo was not in our radar back then in 2007). Some theoretical reading of this experience is here: http://mutabit.com/repos.fossil/offray-maestria-tesis/index Cheers, Offray ps: There are some typos on the main page repository. Is and old one and I have not time to reset the password. Surely there are translation issues in the English paper, but it will give an overview of what we made back then to the interested ones.
