thanks for the info. We have not found anything yet (but have not looked in-depth). Evaluating our needs, we see that we have something quite simple, in the end, but with some weird specific requirements. So in the end we will roll our own. It will be available as open source, and will be announced when it is reasonably stable. So feel free to check it out at that point :-)
