The "standard output" in most Smalltalks is usually considered the
Transcript. You may use it in a method like this:
>>log: aString
� � � �" Write aString to the transcript streamer "
� � � �Transcript cr;
� � � � � � � �show: TimeStamp current;
� � � � � � � �space;
� � � � � � � �show: aString
