[Pharo-project] Sugar Theme
Hello, I have designed a first -- not finished yet -- Sugar theme for Polymorph http://www.squeaksource.com/SugarTheme.html It is only for pharo 1.1 (not sure it works as expected with 1.0) because polymorph was updated by Gary to help. With the support of Gary, I look at contributing more improvment in the future. Hilaire

Hey, thanks for the screenshot. Yes, this is still work in progress. By the way, do not hesitate to contribute any bits of improvements, the Monticello repository is wide open. For Surgar theme we should get rid of the shaded menu anyway. Several things need to be done. Some need internal change in Polymorph, for example to get rid of the arrow in the slider (you have noted the small round black shapes in place of the arrows in the slider, we should get rid of that ones, but Gary need to change a bit Polymorph to be able to do that). Yes, it is a good start. As far as I understand what the Sugar Labs people try to do, they want to propose Sugar as an OS for learning, universally deployable in any kind of devices. I feel it as a great opportunity for Pharo to be there as well, not to mention the huge advantage you got developing an application with Pharo as it become trivially portable. Yet, there are things to be done. Along Sugar theme, gettext support (or any portable equivalent) is necessary. Hilaire

Definitely, Bert help me on that topic so I can I produce a XO bundle and a one-click release of DrGeo in several languages. A loadable package for Pharo will be great. However, a search of the gettext string in Squeaksource returns nothing. Hilaire

It's 100% Smalltalk. Korakurider did a great job. And we do have translations for all the Smalltalk tools, too. In fact, we need to work on splitting up that one huge file with > 4000 translated phrases (>25000 words). http://translate.sugarlabs.org/projects/etoys/ Btw, we do not use Monticello yet, though we're working on switching (the packages on source.squeak.org/etoys are work in progress, not usable yet). - Bert -
