Hi! I am just wondering what these icons means in Nautilus ?? a method extension that is not properly packaged? Cheers, Alexandre -- _,.;:~^~:;._,.;:~^~:;._,.;:~^~:;._,.;:~^~:;._,.;: Alexandre Bergel http://www.bergel.eu ^~:;._,.;:~^~:;._,.;:~^~:;._,.;:~^~:;._,.;:~^~:;.
The first one means the package is empty the second one that this package is a probably monticello package (no classes, only extensions) Ben On Mar 30, 2013, at 5:09 PM, Alexandre Bergel <alexandre.bergel@me.com> wrote:

Maybe we should write somewhere an explanation to all icons? Is it possible to do it in help? uko On 30 беÑ. 2013, at 22:44, Benjamin <benjamin.vanryseghem.pharo@gmail.com> wrote:

I think for now that a help button could be enough with a small description of each button. Jannik On Mar 31, 2013, at 8:01 AM, Benjamin <Benjamin.VanRyseghem.Pharo@gmail.com> wrote:

Thanks Ben! As the others said, something like a tooltip would be great. Alexandre On Mar 30, 2013, at 6:41 PM, Benjamin <benjamin.vanryseghem.pharo@gmail.com> wrote:

You should not always _rely_ on people reading the documentation :). Some will just download and leap right in. And even if they read the documentation, sometimes it takes a while for it to soak in. This is something users can discover for themselves if there was a tooltip. eg "Package A is empty" & "Package B is probably Monticello" - perhaps a fairly long timeout (new users move slower trying to understand things) Expert users can turn this off in their Startup Preferences - and/or if a small icon fits somewhere could toggle between tooltips on/off - which at a stretch might blink a few times the first time Nautilus is opened in a new image - to draw attention to learn how to turn of the tooltips. hover of it. cheers -ben Yuriy Tymchuk wrote:

one of these days we will change that because packages will be stabilized (ben was the first impacted by the different changes in RPackage). Stef On Mar 30, 2013, at 5:09 PM, Alexandre Bergel <alexandre.bergel@me.com> wrote:
