Thanks to your help, the problem is solved. Nothing to do with Artefact but

�� "imageStream := FileStream fileNamed: 'lsi-tec.jpg'."
�� imageStream := FileSystem disk openFileStream: 'lsi-tec.jpg' writable: false.

did the trick. Interesting is that FileStream works ok in Linux.
