I don't know. Currently there are other available tools such as XStreams and FileStream.� So, I don't know.
For XStreams I know it is really been used, there are maitainers, and still in developtment. I guess the same for FileStream. For Nile there is no one.

In the Ocean project, we'll consider using it instead of the old socketstream.
But so far, our focus is to have the low-level sockets working.
