Do you mean similar to the attached?  I get these artifacts with MS Windows all the time, when I this with drag a native windows over the top, drop it then move it away.  I live with it. I presumed I was the only one with no-one else complaining.  Now I can reliably reproduce this with Thunderbird 2.0.0.24 (20100228) window but not when not occur when I do the same thing with an Excel window.  My intuition is this has something to do with the type of graphics card, but I have nothing to back that up.  Can all those with the problem report their graphics card?  My System > System Reporter > GFX Hardware Details are...

I tried with many windows in the latest Moose image and I still see nothing. 
I'm on mavericks.
