loading files from files.pharo.org seems to be slower than before (zeroconf for me).

What about a mirror on Cloudflare?

the problem is that cloud flare does not cache zip files� so they are just handed through.

(as far as I understood).

In addition, the speed actually was much slower than files.pharo.org without.
