Is there a stable Launcher release based on P9? If not, is there a timeline?

The zip bug in P8 means that Launcher often goes over Mac’s open file limit and the workaround is a PITA (requires sudo, etc).

I do not get why you cannot use the current launcher? Are you on M1.
But the launcher should work on M1 machine.
I’m on mac too and I do not have open file limit or I do not see it.

Not on M1. I think the bug is hidden from most users because Pharo templates typically only have a few files and Launcher don’t reach the OS limit. However, with custom templates with directories full of files, it’s easy to hit.

IIUC the bug was fixed in P9, hence my interest in a P9-based Launcher - also generally I find it beneficial to have Launcher run on the latest release e.g. so I can update all my projects at once, including my Launcher extensions.
